Step into the world of our extraordinary Guatemalan coffee, meticulously grown in the renowned Huehuetenango region. This north-western province of Guatemala holds a well-earned reputation for yielding some of the finest coffee beans on the global stage, a distinction achieved through a harmonious combination of unique geographical attributes, an ideal climate, and a rich coffee cultivation heritage.

Perched at dizzying heights of up to 4,260 feet above sea level, the woman-led farms where our coffee begins its journey are cradled within the highlands of Huehuetenango. At these elevations, the coffee plants bask under the tropical sun, nourished by mineral-rich soils and safeguarded from frost by warm, dry winds sweeping in from the adjacent Mexican mountains.

Such conditions are a rarity, providing a distinct edge to the Huehuetenango coffee by allowing the development of beans teeming with bright acidity, a full body, and intricate flavor patterns.

Our curated single-origin carries within it a symphony of flavors – the comforting sweetness of brown sugar, the hearty crunch of roasted nuts, and the playful tartness of ripe berries. This enticing combination is no accident. Instead, it's a testament to the artful precision of our roasting process, the high-quality beans, and the skillful handling by our dedicated partners at the farms.

Our coffee beans are washed. In this method, also known as the wet process, coffee cherries harvested at peak ripeness undergo de-pulping, fermentation, and washing to strip away the fruit and mucilage layers. This meticulous cleansing process reveals the true character of the coffee bean, resulting in a bright and clean flavor profile. It might reduce some of the body but enhances the acidity, contributing to a refreshingly vibrant and complex cup.

The washed process works wonders with the naturally high-acidity and brightly flavored beans of the Huehuetenango region. It not only preserves the innate qualities of the beans but enhances them, leading to a harmonious balance of clean brightness and nuanced complexity. A sip of our medium roast will take you on a sensorial exploration, where the distinct attributes of the coffee are unveiled in layers, with each note making its presence known yet blending seamlessly into a rich tapestry of flavors.

Yet, our coffee is not just a testament to taste and aroma; it's a symbol of our unwavering commitment to empowering the brave women of Guatemala's coffee industry. The gender disparity in coffee farm ownership is stark, with women forming about 70% of the workforce, from picking to exporting, yet owning a small fraction of the farms. We strive to change this narrative through our partnerships to source our Guatemalan coffee exclusively from woman-owned farms.

By consciously choosing our coffee, you become an integral part of this journey toward gender equity in the coffee industry. Every cup you enjoy supports these resilient women, offering them financial independence and contributing to their communities' prosperity. While small in the grand scheme of global coffee production, our initiative is a stepping stone towards a more inclusive and fair coffee industry where women receive their due recognition and benefits.

Our coffee is available as whole beans, honoring the purest form of the coffee and allowing you the flexibility to grind them to your desired coarseness. For those who favor convenience or lack a grinder, we also offer ground options that retain the beans' freshness and flavors as best as possible. Regardless of your preference, each cup promises a memorable tasting experience and a small piece of the Huehuetenango highlands.
